Clockwork Fork knowledge (looking for)

Retro Newbie
I'm looking to upgrade the forks on my '98 Clockwork.
What forks did they come with as standard, and what forks work well with them?
What specs do I need to look for when I'm buying?
(Confused as to whether the Clockwork needs 1" or 1 1/8")
I've got a history of buying parts that don't actually work, and really don't want to upset the Geometry of this fantastic bike 😊
Thanks in advance!

Have a look in here mate.

Seems Bombers were an option so that's the way I'd go.
Where did you find bombers were an option?
I couldn't see that, found that Judy XC/XL, Pace RC36's were available as an upgrade for the '98 models. Turns out mine's a '99 model (frame produced in '98) and there was probably a Manitou option too.
And my RST's are probably factory fitted.

In all honesty, I'm not fussed about keeping it 100% period correct, I just want something good that works, maybe marzocchi, maybe pace.

But I still don't know what I'm looking for 🫣
I'm sure there are many different variations of these forks, and with my track record, I'm seeking advice first 😆

I have a Clockwork of that era that had RST forks on, which were heavy and not brilliant. My 98 P7 had Manitou Spyders which weren't bad but a bit flexy. 98 is more than likely a 1 1/8 ahead - so plenty of choice.

The unwritten rule, of course, is Pace forks on an Orange...

...unless you go rigid, and they ride so nicely on the F7 forks.
