1994 Trek 9200

Proto2000

Retro Guru
Saw this on CL for a week or so and decided that $50 was a good price for the frame and shock, Risse Genesis doing the compression/rebound in the rear. I did manage to get the original wheelset/tires, blue/purple bits, bars, front derailleur, headset and LX brakes for another $40. I have 5 options for the fork so is why I'm posting this before I get too far along. Some of the forks will not be period correct but that's not what I'm after, functioning is most important then how they look on the frame second.
1. Girvin Carbon Pro with rebuilt Noleen coil shock. Not able to run canti's but will look for the part I need or option of V-brakes.
2. Trek DS2 with slow rebound so will need to work that out.
3. RockShox RS1 (not shown) almost identical to the Trek fork and a bit clunky sounding.
4. RockShox FSX with spring kit installed working fine.
5. Marzocchi Z2 Bomber working fine.
Curious to see which fork gets voted onto the frame. I do like the FSX fork as it ties in the carbon to the swingarm.

Love mine, play with how it looks. They're not the best foll suspension bikes but cool as feck, I found pedalling a gear or two harder helped with the bobbing ;)

Why not add a poll so people can vote for the different fork options :)

This one is completed as of today. I went with the FSX fork to match the the carbon swingarm and do have a V-brake brace coming someday from China, Improve Part guy on eBay. Build kit is M739 only because It does not have the rear canti cable stop on the swingarm. Wheels are Single Track Pro rims on LX hubs. The rear shock has very slow rebound so I think that will need a rebuild or at minimum, new oil. Not sure I want to attempt that but you never know.
