Has anyone got a set of cleats spare to use with ritchey logic pedals please...or failing that something similar that you know would work with the pedals shown in image 🙏🏼 Screenshot_20240720-085247.png

I’ve got some Shimano multi release, searching for compatibility gives mixed opinions…
Sorry for my lack of overall knowledge, but all I've ever owned is Onza Ho Titanium's.
So I've just bought ( as I'm currently building a more get out and ride retro build) some Of the pedals shown in image.
Are you saying that your cleats will work with no issues? Or are you suggesting going for some Shimano pedals??

Thank you.

Ian

One thing that has always annoyed me with the Onza's is that they release lots when you go to jump or similar action!
I just love the Onza pedals as it just a nostalgic thing for me I guess. But for this build I just want something that works well... Releases when I want them to buy no unwanted release if you get me? 👍🏼

I can’t remember exactly but most SPD types were SPD compatible I thought? I’m sure for example, I have some Girvin pedals that use the Shimano cleats.
They (the Big S) used to make a multi release and single release cleat. I don’t suppose this has changed. There are so many Shimano pedals on and in the market, you will always find a bargain. They last ages as well. I had just serviced my original XT pedals that I got second hand in 1991 or 1992! I am using Time pedals at the moment.
It is worth getting hold of a new set of cleats of your choice. If they fit, great! If not, there is always a pair of Shimano SPD pedals somewhere nearby!

Thank you for your help...I'm kind of going in blind to a world of spds again!
So any help is appreciated 👍🏼
I have read loads that Shimano are so reliable and bomb proof...but I always like something less popular.
I was thinking about Time pedals as they look cool and Tomac used them ha ha.
But that's where my knowledge stops with them.
I've impulsively bought the pedals shown in post however I'm still open to options or offers!.
What time pedals do you use? And how do they perform?

Many thanks

Ian

Thank you...I'll hold fire for now until I actually know what I really want/need.

I had only used SPD pedals from 91 to a few years ago. I found I really liked Time pedals on the road bikes so I thought I would give the off road versions a try. Time pedals always offered more float than most of the others. Float is the movement you have whilst clipped in. Everyone is different but, float is generally considered a good thing if your knees are not in perfect working order or, you’re no longer in the first flush of youth.
Both pedals seem to still use the same cleats as they have for many, many years. Knowing you can buy these new is reassuring.
I would say that the Time pedals are a few percentage points more difficult to get into? Maybe this is a “Me” problem? I’m not sure. Certainly the Time pedals have a more positive “Click” than the Shimano ones and are maybe better in thick mud? My Shimano pedals are Generation#1 though so maybe this has got better? I shudder to think of the abuse dished out to them over 33 years and they are still working perfectly.
To conclude, I would happily use either system but be aware of the different Shimano cleats.
Here are a couple photos. I have tried to show the mechanism on the Shimano so you can compare with yours.
