1938 "B" frame with modern stuff...

1939 "DX" frame with mostly late 70s early 80s bomber bits...

...I may be biased or maybe need to adjust my chronometer from "classic" to "curmudgeon-ish" but if it aint PRE WAR STEEL...it aint REAL ;-)

I do not diagree that the Fat chance is a true iconic bike but i thnk the 550 was on of the first steel full suspension bikes, I was drooling in 1991/92 over these bikes. Its just wish i had the chance to own one BITD.

Very good bike indeed, used mine for me travels for years, got the rear triangle welded up in Turkey (broken at the dropout) and the bike is lasted for another 6 years :shock: !

I know nobody likes Marin around here but what about the Team Issue? Seemed to be the rig of choice for the Polaris Challenge.
Maybe nobody considers that "proper" racing...

I love the early Marins, I have been on the lookout for one for ages! Only problem is they all seem to be 22" frames :roll: Where are all the 17" 18"'s
