Classic steel

OK lets take this a step further... because that list could get huge.

My top 5 steel bikes (well retro mtbs anyway) in reverse order!

Serotta T Max (in some mad fluro colour scheme)
Salsa A La Carte Jellybean
Roberts Dogs Bolx
Zinn 753
Scapin (the one with the bent up rear stays)

& My S Works steel in 6th ;)

CTK, change the Zinn to a Ritchey p20 and you've nailed it! IMHO.

Al you've got a deal-

Think I might swap something for a Bontrager too :? but what?!!

I would say Scapin!

Although the only time i've seen one was at the Garda bike festival.

Nearly bought one.It takes a lot for me to buy a new bike. And bugger all to buy an old one! ;)

White lightnings in just cos I own one, its highish end reynolds tubed lugged XC racer from 89. I find it has good geometry and handles well in a light springy format. I find though that a 89-91 Stumpy has near perfect geometry for me and it edges my White lighning for handling prowess but I've always like Raleighs so I can't quite decide.

Think this year I must get hold of an On-One Inbred just to confirm if its as good as I've been told. :D

Bloody hell its impossible-

steel bikes are all much of a muchness really arent they? (cough)

Ignore my top 5-

Number 1 for me is... Specialized S Works

because until I ride anything else I'm in no position to judge- apart from paint jobs and detailing and I suppose wow factor. Which is what my top 5 was based on!

Come on then what's everyone elses number 1 steel bike ever!!!?
