Classic steel

Muddy fox[the early ones were 531, i think]
Clockwork
P7
I've no experience of these other brands you guys have listed, but these 3 surely must be included

OK On-One should probably not be in the list but it does handle very well according to many a reveiw and rider. Day before i was going to buy a nice used one I was thrown from my Taiwanese no name special into the trail at Spooky Wood, Glentress and broke bones thus did not actually get the Inbred.
RATTTSSSS
Now I can't get one cos its not retro............yet ;)

An on-one has just as much right to be on the best of steel list as any!

I have owned some very good hand built quility steel over the years. And of all this stuff, i would put my Surly 1x1 up there with some of the best.

It doesn't have the looks of a De-kerf, build of a Roberts db or the Kudos of A Ritchey annapurna. What it does have is a ride to price ratio that is hard to beat.

You stand up for your on-one, and be proud of the way it rides.

Al. :D

What about this little fella?

;)

If its steel and you rate it get it on the list, and thet includes the above Furquay,On-one and Surly.I have a steel GT Peace SS and its probably the cheapest bike I've ever had but it handles brilliantly, just ask those that were at Dalby yesterday :D

Don't get what you're saying?

Are you saying a Surly rides poorly?

If so, you are very wrong!

ps I really do have dyslexia! Thats why it takes ages to write stuff!!

Interesting list. A couple I'd perhaps not neccesarily describe as 'classic' but there we go. What was the Raleigh White lightening? Rings a bell but can't quite recall it...
