Caroline second in the series - a great achievment IMHO.

Forgot Gary Foord winning at Mammoth too...

Tim, did you race any of these events in this year (if so, who for?)??

Mr K

Did train for 94 season, but could not find a deal to take me to world cups ( and pay me ;) ), could of raced in the UK, but decided it was time to get a ' proper' career going - thats if you call Leisure Centre Management a proper career :D

FW,

What do you recall as your best MTB race - was it overseas or in the UK?

Mr K

Probably Dalby Forest BMB round in 1991 - I was on fire that day and me and Dave Baker blew Gouldy out with about a lap to go and I got away from David in the woods before the finish to win. Internationally 1991 worlds were good - 7th. Had six or seven top tens in Grundig World Cups in 1992. and ended up 10th overall.

This makes me think: What happened to David Baker?

i think he retired after the 96 atlanta olympics

DB was diagnosed with a heart condition and retired from the sport, last I heard he was running a cyclists cafe in the Peak District. Top bloke, once met him at Newnham changing after a race, stark bollock naked. From that point known as Big DB

Most of these guys are still connected to this sport somehow. His he one of them? Does anyone know? (just curious...)

Edit: Oh, he was a great rider, that´s a bit sad to know... thank´s, mate.

I think he started some landscape gardening business.
