City Slickers

Twosted

Devout Dirtbag
Just slid on a pair of 26x1.50 Tioga City Slickers to the Avalanche.
Have never ridden on semi slicks before, always had Tioga Pyscho nobblies.

Well, I took it out for a ride on the road and the thing just kept going and going. I can't believe how little rolling resistance there is on these tyres.
It's the first time I've got home after a ride and was not seeing stars and needed oxygen! :)

The ones with smooth rolling surface but knobbles on the outside are the best of both worlds ;)

Or try Specialized fatboys 1.5" pumped up to 90psi :D
They're completely smooth,zero tread

Cool. ;)

I must admit that I did fire up the compressor and squirt in 90psi.

Yeah,
sliks rule!!

I fitted 2.5" Hookworms to my Sv and its quicker  LOL

But looks like a Super Motard now which rocks!

Gc

My Bonny Road Warrior 1.5 or Conti 1.2 on my hybrid are both great for the road.

Compare that to the tarmac sections that we do between muddy off-road bits with my Maxxis Swampthings 2.3 - like having a saddle on top of a pneumatic drill!

i have had the same pair of city slickers for 15yrs or longer and they are still going strong.

i stick them on certain bikes now and again.......even had them on a FSR carbon s-works last year......just pumped up both shocks and it was a flying machine!

might try them on the pace this spring/summer for fitness work.

When the trails dry out I use 1.9" Panaracer Mach ss semi slicks, the side knobs give plenty of cornering grip & they roll pretty fast too. I've also used them on the road too, pumped up to 70psi they fly along nicely.
