Yup I think surreal is a good way to describe it. But in the flesh the proportions are very right. The seat stays are so graceful and sharp.
 
That is really a beautiful bike! I recently bought a similar ‘nobby’ stem for a Pinarello Maxim, and my nob actually makes the stem move forward (it seems). I wouldn’t ride it without fully understanding the mechanics and limits, but don’t see the logic in this being for a bike computer? Curious if there are more people with experience with the stem. There seems to be a spacer as well, but that is only 5mm (maybe others have been removed over time).

Not really a restoration, just a good clean. This is my 100% original 1988/89 Cinetica Giotto.

Ferrari red, in fact, this bike was built in cooperation with Ferrari for their Carbon Fibre expertise, the end bikes were actually painted with Ferrari rosso paint as on their cars. So this is real Ferrari red.

Complete with full Campagnolo C-Record Groupset, Delta brakes and sitting on its original tubular tyres (they still hold air amazingly), original bar tape. I have even kept the cabling original, the only change is a couple of cable ends on the front and rear derailleur cables to stop fraying.

Everything else is as it was bought from the shop 35+ years ago.

There's conflicting accounts about how many of these there are. The story is that after making 50-60 the moulds cracked and were never remade.
Someone else says there are less than 30. As far as i can find out around 15-20 are known to exist. There is a number 5 on the inside of the drive side chainstay, i assume this is therefore number 5 built. There is no other serial number.

Anyway, i hope you like it, i think it's one of the most graceful and elegant Carbon monocoque bikes.

A remarkable bike in more ways that one, and lovely to see it cleaned up. Will this get ridden or is it a display item only? Just wondering as your signature is 100% MTB.

Usually I'd say it would be a shame for a bike not to be ridden, but this could be an exception...though if it was mine I'd be too curious not to give it a little ride out.
 
Wow. That's cleaned up rather well!

What a beautiful machine, fantastic as a complete time capsule, definitely deserves a spin. Does the bar wind in and out with the knob? Do those twin allen bolts let you change the bar width too?!
 
Cheers all. I’m not sure if I’ll ride it just yet. The tyres are 35+ years old and it’s too small for me. Will see what happens, I may take it for a gentle bimble.
As far as I know they’re very comfortable to ride, the lack of seatpost gives it good vertical compliancy.
