Hello,

Does anyone know if the Gazzetta della Strada has always had English threaded BB, or the older version were Italian thread?

Thanks

Oh, I didn't know! Thanks.

In the meantime however I learned that is not nearly as old a bike as I thought and the one I am looking at is actually from 2019 😳 looks so much older at first glance.

And it seems to have English BB.

I honestly thought it was a vintage bike from the eBay ad.
Then looked into it and understood it's modern.
Seems such a strange hotchpotch of parts.
What did you think of them?

They are nice with all the eyelets, bosses, and mounting points. But I'd guess the Cinelli name drives the price up quite a bit...

It was introduced as a decent audax- or communing style steel frame - a bit before 2010 iirc.

Similar tube and ride quality to a surly, but with more class and less "attitude".

I mean what does Surly mean?
Do you want a "Surly" bike??

Taiwanese built, like Surly.

Cinelli and Columbus are part of the same business, so i imagine the tubes are Taiwanese too, like reynolds 520.

Very like Reynolds 520🤔

But frames short on tyre clearance iirc, specially if you fitted guards.

We custom built a few for longer distance commuters, or riders who wanted a bike that could be fastish and capable.

Good Enough!

haha, I know what you mean about Surly

I see. Seems a good bike, yes, but from what I read and from what you say, other than having a steel fork, I am not sure I see an advantage compared to a Genesis Equilibrium.
And yes, the new Equilibrium come with a steel fork, but the second-hand ones I am looking at don't. Shame.

Really? You think the Gazzetta is superior to the Equilibrium in style?

Not a loaded question. Genuinely curious:)

The Cinelli does have that "retro" look about it. It's nice. But the Genesis is also very sleek.
Different style, I guess

Genesis looks more modern, UK Market design gives it an element of charm.
Like a cucumber sandwich or fish and chips.

Cinelli on the other hand, arancini, panettone.
