So here it is... a frameset that has had at least three owners from this forum and has probably not had a groupset attached to it for at least 5 years!!!

Deda Zero Tre tubeset with Time Stiletto carbon fork

(Thanks to a previous owner with initials NM for the pic)

Finishing kit will be something akin to the 1997 Casino AG2R Colnago C40 that the paintjob mimics, so, yellow saddle and bar tape for starters!

See Gridno27's actual C40 build here for the real deal version.... viewtopic.php?f=23&t=319621

Its going to be another Retromod build but not in keeping with the Shimano Dura Ace setup of the day as I have a 2007 Campag Chorus 10 speed groupset to attach (once I've serviced the right shifter and replaced the G-springs)

Build has been delayed by a very rough seat-tube which has now been reamed out to take a 27.2 seatpost - I actually still need to shave a couple of inches further down, but I can at least get a post in far enough now.

Re:

Wow! My grass hasn't been that colour in a long time.... a long long time.

Lookin forward to this build.....

BTW you are lucky I didn't built it, cos if it rides as well as the one I did build, I would never have sold it.

The NOS one I bought that looks like the one you did build is next in the queue.

Its getting a shiny 11 speed groupset on it

Re:

The lines between each colour are slightly different too, yours has distinct lines where mine has more traditional fade.

There are quite a lot of differences... the white panel on the downtube of mine is enormous.

I guess we can be certain they were hand painted!

Anyway... thats for a thread in a couple of weeks.

Re:

That's why I love these and my Dave Lloyd's, all hand made, all individually painted, each one unique.

Been a bit busy the last couple of days doing more bike mechanic certification, so jumped back on this late this afternoon.

Finished off the seat tube, but still chopped a bit off the Deda seatpost I'd bought to fit. Sadly I don't have the leg length of Mike Muz 67, so part of the graphic is concealed beneath the lug.

Was hoping the bottom bracket wouldn't need tapped, but after filling it with seat tube swarf, I thought I'd better... by god it needed it! Last time I chased bb threads this bad it was after some seized cups had been melted out of the shell.

Anyway... having splashed out on a new Chorus bb I was delighted when it threaded in smoothly.

As you can see, I still haven't taken the bubble wrap off yet. I gave the fork a wiggle and the headset deffo needs serviced...hopefully a quick clean and some fresh grease and new balls will have it as smooth as the proverbial infants derriere.

Thought I'd keep the grassy theme in the photos, so moved the stand out of the workshop :p

Re:

I've still got the yellow Cinelli cork ribbon for it.

But if you insist on using Campag …………..
