Carlton Grand Prix: Bottom Bracket Advice

Cut and shut not as cheap as a threadless bottom bracket :). Early Mavic ones mandated cutting a chamfer on the BB face, modern ones either have a slight chamfer to help centring or have internal expanding collars.

Re:

You are welcome to have my Gran Prix. It is a 60cm tho, older type, and tatty. I am 5ft11in too, good fit. I used it as SS beater for a while... Not very interested to do it up.
Comes complete with original forks, headset, BB, and Carlton headbadge.
Location Milton CB24
Would appreciate £1 pocket money for the kids (3 in total)
Just let me know if you are interested.

Keep your eye in EBay if you want to find a frame which is similar....

Hello,
Just reading through these comments with interest.
I'm looking for a BB mechanic and crank for a Grand Prix. Some links posted on this threat but as this is an old post those are dead links now.
Wondering if anyone can recommend a BB mechanism and crank for the Carlton Grand Prix frame.
I posted an update on this thread earlier today asking for suggestions on this.
Thanks
Mac

BB needs to match the crank, so that's the starting point, assuming you have a usable BB shell (which is likely).
