Carlton Criterium

My Criterium, which is almost identical to the OP's, has drilled QR Weinmanns similar to these rather pricey examples. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360796529052

Nice one! As far as I'm aware the levers are weinmanns. Don't forget to put any pictures up!

Thanks Anglian. I will. Just need a few things. Seat (San Marco Regal) and tyres. Not sure if to replace the Weinmann GT brake levers with Dia Compe Non Aero type. Quite fortunate nothing much more to do. It just needed a good clean/de gunk, lubricate and service plus new outer and inner cables, new front brake cable hanger, grease front and rear hubs, bottom bracket and headset.

Tyres are an issue. Don't fancy the super wide 27 x 1/4. Have been looking for 27 x 1/8. Only Conti's (not very retro) or Panaracer Gum Walled but expensive at £34 odd from SJS Cycles in Bridgwater.

I have two 1975 Criteriums running 27-1/4" tyres, one with WTs an fhb her other with Pasellas, you can see the difference here:

The WTs are a bit wider.

Great bikes! I am now back home after an 11hour 500 mile trip and the Carlton is with me :D two things...brake levers are Universals and wheels are not quick release, however they are polished alloy 700c rims! Few marks as to be expected but a deep clean and polish shoud make her look a lot better. Many thanks to my big bro for giving me a box of goodies to assist in the refurb...u star! Will try and post some photos in the next couple of days.
