Carlton Clubman. Just spreading the love

Hey Guys,

Just finished off this bike and thought id spread the love. The one thing is does anyone know the year? This was the spec when i got it so i think its a bit of a custom build:

Shimano 600
Campagnolo Grand sport front and rear
Cinelli Bars and stem
SR Cranks and seat post
Mavac levers

Will be up for sale when i think up a price so open to offers as well (ill post up in the for sale section).

Good mix of kit there

Dating later (after 1973) Carlton / Raleigh is usually easy. The frame number starts with 2 leters then a number. The first letter is the manufacture site, second the month code and the 3rd the year of manufacture. If the 3rd digit is a 6 for example then 1976 / 86 (that looks like an 80's bike)

Are there teardrops cut out of the lugs?

Great thanks Shaun! On the frame number ive got WA1000089 so im guessing its an 89 model. Yeah theres tear drops in the lugs

1981 bike . Cut out lugs always a good sign. I think it was sold as a frame only to build with your own kit.

Yep, generically all 25 inch plus Carlton's were called "Longfellow" lol
