60cm (23.6”) but according to the specs for m2000 they only went up to 22”. Could there have been customer specific sizes made?

Ok so I'd say your serial number 52210922 indicates 5 (135mm dropout spacing) 22 (22" frame) 1092 (October 1992) 2 (build sequence, though I would expect more digits after this)

This REALLY helps, thank you for all the insight. Discovering its the M2000 from 1992 has shed new light on the bike. Though the fact that it has been resprayed does disappoint. I would rather have had tired original painted frame than resprayed with wear marks. Might rethink its future in my collection - it is the only aluminium framed. Thanks again.
