I picked this bike up a while back. It appears to have most of the original spec of the SM2000 except for the stem, bars and seat. However, I can’t find the SM2000 in yellow other than the limited Omega edition. Does anyone recognise the model/year? 54333682-7AFB-434E-ABA3-C37CD577D186.jpeg

Looks like it’s been resprayed, headtube decal is wrong, and the other decals look too new.

The spec seems similar to the 92/93 M2000 - series 3.0 frame.

Is it 1-1/4 steerer?

Hi Malt. Thanks for your input. Yes having just looked up the 93 M2000 specs this is definitely closer to my bike. I was wondering about if it was resprayed. If it was it was done professionally as the decals have no evidence of any stickers or template work. But the logo in front is not correct - I think. I will post a photo of the front brake calliper triangle (not sure of correct term) has the Cannondale line logo which is not on the front of the headtube.

What I do know is that it was a one owner and the guy bought it sometime early 90’s, I don’t have his details anymore having bought it 4 months ago online and it has been sitting in my collection:)

It’s a 1-1/8 steerer having since changed the stem and bars.

Thanks

Agree on the decals, pointing towards respray.
Surely this must be a shimmed 1 1/4 setup. So what's that, 91/92 when the went from 1" to 1 1/4 on the 3.0?
I'm sure one of the cannondale experts will be along in a sec with serial number questions.

Up to 1992 Cannondale serial number were on the underside of the chainstay or seatstay. From 1992 onwards they were on the underside of the bottom bracket shell. The serial number will reveal all

Hi. So just checked and the serial number is on the inside of the seatstay. So does that mean it could be 91 or older? The components appear to match the 92/93 models.

Is you share the serial number we can date the frame exactly. Keep in mind a frame built in the latter part of 92 would likely be a 93 bike, in terms of catalogue

Serial number BI-0301. Would that be correct-seems short?
