Bike almost finished. I've chanced the seatpost and the cables, which have to be painted, because the original orange didn't harmonize with the decals. To do list: new stem with more rise and a black bar.

Thanks for the new pics. How are the brakes? Mine feel a bit mushy on my 1991 SE 2000.

Hi!

Yes, mine feel a little bit mushy too but i think that's normal. You can't compare those cantilevers with v-brakes or even disk-brakes... But I don't use the bike for races. Therefore I can live with those disadvantages...

Prefer thumbshifters if possible and remove these horrible SRAM shifters : they have nothing to do on such a bike

Did you know that trek sell all manner of coloured brake and gear cables which I think are unbranded jagwire kit. If I remember rightly they come in 10 meter rolls.

Thank's for your (positive ) comments. I've bought them here: http://cgi.ebay.com/Jagwire-Housing-Cab ... 4841a200af

and I've paid 8 pounds for them and 12 pounds for the new painting :roll:

But as I said the original orange looked dirty and very matt, so they didn't suit the neon-orange decals. Now it's not perfect but better than with the original ones...

If someone knows some cables in a very bright neon-colour, than I'd be very happy.
