Can we just agree on what NOS means please!

I never gave it much thought

I always assumed it was just term slapped on everything in remotely decent condition with a mangled or non mangled original box to get people to click the listing

I'll tell you what NOS is

An oxymoron
Quite. If it's new, it's not old, and if it's old, it's not new. 'Unused old stock' would be better. But then, what counts as 'unused': a part that's never been fitted to a bike, or a part that's been fitted but never used for it's intended purpose?

Yup, and we can talk ourselves into missing the relevance.
A NOS part might be technically unmolested, but it’s scratched to fck through years of disrespect.
An unused take-off might’ve been touched by a spanner once but there’s absolutely no impact whatsoever.
Notion vs Reality
