Agreed. I've bought things that people are convinced they bought in a certain year. They've not been trying to swindle me, just their memory isn't as good as they think!

I think all the modern ones have black rails but some of the older ones do too (though not many)

Well, bike really good condition, all original parts, original tyres, basically looks new. Why would he change the saddle from a 1996 turbo to a 2019 turbo?

It just doesn’t make sense! But you could be right, who knows if he changed the saddle

The daily cannondale I use. Planning on changing it and just wanted to know date as I couldn’t figure it out from the stamp.

It’s a sv 900 comp, no catalogue info for it but all other comps I see have the same spec.
