Campagnolo Cognin?

I visited the area recently, near Chambery and the Swiss border and was amazed to find someone in an LBS who's dad had worked in the Campagnolo production factory in France in the 1950s. He had a few Campagnolo France keyrings and some original tools as keepsakes.

There's not much online about Campagnolo France, other than the plant was established to get round the very restrictive French tariff taxes at the time. The lever is stamped 'Brevet France' where it normally says 'Italy'. Can't find any photos.

Does anyone know any more about it? I can't find zip!

Hi Campy used to have lots of photos of rare vintage Campagnolo (including these skewers) on his website. Can't find it now, anyone any idea if the www?

According to friend who spent some time working in Aix-les-Bains, the Campagnolo assembly/finishing plant is now the Canal des Arts museum.
As far as I can work out from t'net, and taking into account the almost uniquely French idiosyncratic habit of renaming roads, it's 51 Avenue Robert Badinter or 51 Avenue de Lyon (basically it's the D1006), 73160 Cognin.

Thanks for the info. Apparently there's an article in La Depeche I'll need to dig out, but I don't think there's much mention of the Campagnolo connection. Shame. I'm currently trying to buy a pair of Cognin skewers, will keep you posted 😂🇫🇷
