Well i'll try a bottle when i race and see. And maybe use a bac for racing. But i haven't noticed any pro's using bac's
The score should be 21 to 6 as i'm now in bottle camp

Yea, when I used to race I always used a bottle or no drink at all! But then when you race you know how far, how long etc in advance, so you can hydrate yourself in advance.

Bottles for me every time. Never owned a Camel thingy. There is a simple elegance about a bottle. It performed it's sole function pretty well throughout the ages. Also being somewhat untidy of nature, the whole issue of CamelKak worries me. Putting the thing in a freezer sounds a good idea but will only slow down bacteria reproduction. It won't kill the little bu**ers!

Finally, I still have Tim Gould's bottle that he threw my way at a race once. Cool or what?

Could be a new thread. Has anyone been to the Tour and scavenged a famous riders' bottle from the road side?

Not a bottle, but when I went to the Tour when it started in Holland, I got there a day or 2 before it started and met a few riders at the big intro do. Loads of free 'crap'; caps, posters etc.
But I did bump into Chris Boardman in the car park, nice guy, had a good chat with him

Camelback for me most of the time, but I do sometimes reach for the bottle if it's a short ride or a hot summer day where I know I can refill. Riding without a Camelback is very refreshing.

I always have cages on my bikes for my Lumicycle (although my big Nicolai doesn't take a cage... but you'ld have to be nuts to take that out at night).

For racing back in the day I had a Camelback with Maxim powder in it and a small bottle of water in the frame in case I go the dreaded stomach cramps.

Gianni Bugno once said 'a vaffancula' to me..........does that count?

I reckon it does. Gianni was ace. In magazines such as Cycle Sport, they used to give reasons why particular Tour favourites had again been beaten by the Big Mig. Amongst the usual illness and injuries was the annual Gianni reason of 'Bad Karma'. Twice World champ though so the karma was good sometimes.
