Buying a GT Zaskar - how to make sure its the real deal

Hmm, my early 94 blue ano Zaskar takes 26.8. Tried 27.0 and no way I could insert.

I still have its original (and bent) seatpost.

I sure your right the '96' was the last of the 27.0mm seatposts.

My red anno june 97 is 27.0mm. Not least as like TGF I too have the original (and heavy) seatpost with 27.0mm stamped on it. My Thomson 27.0 is a great fit.

I ask as Ive just joined the GT club I bought the frame off here so I'm so I'm happy that it is a Zaskar. The seat post that came with it is 27.0 but to be really honest Id say it should have a 26.8 as its sooo tight :shock: Its a ubrake model as well and the serial No is 03910115 and its on the drop out as well. So what would the GT experts say is it a wrongun or a goodun

That sounds like a nice Pantera












Just kidding , sounds like the real deal, pretty sure the placement of the serial number defines it as a Zaskar, should be on the inside of the rear drop out along with the frame size and 6061, your frame number has it as a March 91 frame.

Ok.. My '97 Zaskar frame is 27.0mm seatpost. . . . tried the post out of the Aggressor in it..

My '98 Avalanche is 27.2mm.
