Brooks saddles and sit bone question.

I did once (2007) have a Brooks Swift Ti saddle in black…Black is the gold standard for me.

I cycled to London from Cambridge and i was bedding it in…not perfect as I hadn’t played around with it…I was going to watch the TdF prologue in Regents Park….When I got back to my bike in Liverpool Street Station…the saddle and seat post were both gone…stolen!!!

true. I have a Black Swift Ti that I’m swapping for a B17: How about I send it to you, try it, if you like them, you have the option to buy it, or send it back and get a brown one?
My Swift has arrived and just tested on my trainer and it feels comfortable…need more time with it and I will try it on the road tomorrow.

Have you ever tried the Brooks Colt? I've had a few over the years, and have no problem breaking them in. The leather is quite thick and they take a long time to sag. They've no saddle bag loops but there are after market fittings. Definitely one of the most comfortable Brooks I've ever ridden.

The B17 for me was always a mixed bag, sometimes you got a good one, sometimes it was sagging straight out of the box. Quite hard to find Colts now, they even did one in British Racing Green! I put a lot of miles in the last one before my son half inched it from under me 😎

One is on eBay at the moment in cyan! I don’t use a saddle bag…they look interesting but never tried one…Did you angle up or kept it level? Tell your son that he is ‘a very naughty boy’! 😹

It's is, and was marketed as a 'racing saddle '
So it's quite an aggressive design which I ride flat. I think there might have been a titanium version... As above, a good day out on the rain will sort just about any 'breaking in' issues. My Colts shape to my sit bones very quickly (and compared to other Brooks saddle, quite deeply). I've done coast to coast on them (195 miles non stop, just about) and never felt a thing.

They say a good saddle is one you completely forget it's there. By the way I also like SLR saddles, especially the wider ones. They are great for shorter days. The green Colt looks wild! By the by, the gold embossed lettering doesn't last very long....😬

IMO the Colt is one of the few leather saddles that actually looks the part on vintage Italian or French steel bikes. B17s look kinda silly on a skinny steel frame and the Brooks Pro just looks like a big settee!
