The Spa cycles leather sadles are an alternative - three models:

I am very pleased with a Brooks Swift with Ti rails on my 1992 Dyna-Tech MT5. Nice and comfy, in-fact all of my retro bikes have Brooks saddles.

I have a B17 titamium on my Salsa cross bike and it's been comfortable from day one. Horrendously expensive but I told my missus that it would be the only saddle I’d every need/buy…. been buying other things instead!. ;)

stuck my newish brooks in my fuji last week for the national at inners on saturday , it was wonderfully comfy
however my arse was chaffed somewhat the next day
so maybe a dry less than 7 hour ride would be okay

got one of those Ti Swifts too and it is very nice indeed but have to say it does ruin the look of your Dyna Tech.

Thanks clockworkgazz for your thoughts on the saddle. I used the Brooks to replace a modern 'thing' that I originally had on the rebuild and which was like sitting on a knife. I thought the Brooks looked more 'retro' on the MT5. Still each to his own...

Sorry if it came over rude, just such a nice looking bike you have put together there just does not work for me- how about a rolls or a turbo?

MM see you've put the pic of my other Dyna-Tech there. The saddle on that is a (Rare) Campagnolo Electa and I'd love to be able to get another one of those for the MT5. However now I'm recently 'saddled' (see what I did there?) with a mortgage for a new house buying bike stuff is on-hold. :(
