Hi all,
I bought this bike complete in Jan 2016 - it was in appalling condition with rubbish components, stuck seatpost, stuck BB and the forks were covered in crud:
Anyway, the seatpost was at my height, and the forks were Columbus jobbies and cleaned up really well so I started to like it a bit more than I originally did! I left it in my friends shed for a bit, and then moved house. In the end I gave the frame to another mate to build up, but he didn't want it either...
Fast forward to last December and I wanted something to build up as I had a few period components spare. Got hold of the frame again and duly took a hacksaw to the stuck in FAG/SKF bottom bracket:
And dissolved the rather thick seatpost using caustic soda and water:
Gave the frame a clean up with coca cola, tin foil and wd40, fitted the original forks and a Shimano 600 headset were fitted (excuse the state of the work bench!):
And then it was ready to be built up!
