i need a good set of brake pads for my bike.
it has xtr cantilevers, but the brake pads i am using are basically crap.
and in the wet i may as well not have any brakes.
i think the pads i am using are aztecs.
so please recommend me some good brake pads which will stop me on a damp morning.
many thanks, jeff.

Greetings
Aztecs are generally good when new, however Cool-Stops are good stopping brake shoes as well.

Find some stud vbrake style holder e.g. thread. Then use the ads that come with it for a while after that shift to some triple compounds and remember to clear out the channels every now and again. OBE Clarks and most now sell the pads. Not expensive either.
Tested for a longtime now in all wweather and must.

Aztecs and Koolstops are both a very good choice. I was using Clarks pads at the weekend and found them to be very good as well.
Depends on the type though, some of the Clarks pads with a softer 'rubbery' compound work okay but squeal alot.

Just to add pics
I use these in my M900's
ASH850 holders and then used the pads up

and now run these or the clarks version in all my brakes as the older pads wear out.

they are a bit chunkier than normal pads though, so you'll need to reset the brakes first time you move to them.

Of course, people setups differ, I use a lot of modulation and hate 'solid' brake setups.
