I have just bought a 2008 Kona Cindercone on ebay which works fine but the brakes sounds a bit grindy, I have taken the wheels out and looked at the pads, The front look ok ish and the back look quite worn, I have decided to change both anyway, For some reason the bike has odd calipers fitted.
It has Tectro Draco caliper on the front & Hayes ryde on the rear.
I have changed pads on cars many times no problems ! On the bike is it just remove the pads and push back the cylinders and fit the replacements ?
