Boulder Bicycle Defiant?

Thanks. The titanium bars were discolored / stained. When I tried to clean them the graphics wore down and damaged more than they were. So I powder coated the bars too and had the graphics reproduced. Shocks had to be taken apart for powder coat or internals would have melted in the oven. Then Risse rebuilt them. Stem, which looked big and clunky in red now seem to have a smaller, lighter profile. I also Powder coated medium and small chainrings, parts and fork brace black. Hopefully these will all be more scratch resistant than paint and keep lookin good for years to come.

I was also able to find NOS brake set on EBay that came to me brand new on boxes and plastic bags never opened and same NOS for shifters which are same era but under bar wishbones which are very nice and smooth to use.

I pushed the tire size up to 2.3 and they work great with no clearance issues, although they're probably best for just off-road. But they do sound bad-ass on road when I get some speed.

Re:

Beautiful Restoration. I have this beauty coming soon. All original, too few miles to worry about.

I know its a bit late, but @Gio you have to slide the stem further into the steerer! It is dangerous to ride like this.

Gorgeous, Golite4. What an incredible find. Post more photos when you get it together and please tell us the history if you can.

Thias - thanks for the tip. We were riding it hard many times this past season but it is tucked away in garage for winter. I will check on the stem before we ride next.

For anyone wondering, the Boulder bike rides beautifully. Handles well and the suspension is like a Cadillac. Of course, lockouts would be nice at times but for a vintage bike it was definitely worth restoring. Way ahead of its time in technology that still holds up today. I have been tempted to get another.

Holy moly, that looks squashy. But also very worth saving. Wonderful frameset, and valuable forks.
Possibly a Ti flexstem and bar ends too.
