Bottom Bracket for Syncros Revolution

Hello,

I believe the recommended spindle length is 117mm. Does any one have a recommendation on a bottom bracket? I need a 68x117mm BB for a 91 Rocky Mountain Blizzard.

Thanks

Great to see that you got an early Rocky that you were looking for!!
The 91 Blizzard is one of my favourites! Very cool that you have a Revolution crank to put on it too.
A Syncros BB would be a great match, or something else with adjustable cups. I have yet to own a Rev crank, but you may be able to get away with a Shimano un72 which are much easier to find in various spindle lengths.

Thanks Blizz,

Shutter sold me the frame from his inventory. It's in need of a lot of work but I plan on doing a full restore. When I get off my butt I'll start a build thread... Stay tuned

Will

Re:

There is a good chance that is also known as the 118 length, just Syncros made it under the 117 length and their bottom bracket is labeled 117.

That's to give Shimano 47.5 chainline, vary as you want/need. That frame should be fine.
(122 would give the longer 50 chainline with these lengths)

There are many in use on the forum so see what they used.

Re: Re:

Thanks. What I am reading is 117 to 122 will work.

Re:

117 I'd their official length with their bb. Mentioned in the documents. They do say like I said you can get the next length up for the 50mm chainline. They also say you maybe able to use the shorter e.g. 113/115 for the next chainline down

Try what you have and see where it sits on your frame if you have the parts to test.

t'is 117mm for 28.6mm f.mech clamp on a steel frame.

as with other cranks such as RaceFace, i found i had to bump that up to 120/2mm for the Experience as the down tube diameter is wider and required a larger 34.9mm f.mech clamp. the f.mech cage would rub against the nobs on the rear tyre when in granny gear when turning on the bike.

and as for recommendations, Syncros Ti BB of course! ;)

OK so 117mm it is since the Blizzard needs a 28.6mm f. mech.

Ideally if I can find it in Syncros Ti that would be preferred. Another user has a near mint Utlimate Machine Ti Bracket in the specs I need. There is not much about this BB. Any one have any opnions about it?
