BotM October 2019 nominations SPLATTER AND FADE SPECIAL

thekidmalone’s 1992 Ferraroli travel MTB

Hello RBUK community,

Now gone for more than twenty years, the Swiss brand Ferraroli were masters of combining long, gradient fades, rich, vibrant colors and dynamic splatter effects which changed in color across the frame, fork and stem to compliment the base color underneath.

Unfortunately, I don’t currently have a rideable bike which demonstrates that full effect. Therefore, I humbly submit one of their bikes with a simple, black base color to highlight their exquisite splatter technique.

In the detailed picture, you can not only get lost in the splatter details, but also note some extra hardware. The rear stays of this bike separate from the rear of the main triangle and bolt to the bottom of the down tube for packing in a bespoke travel bag.

I hope to travel with this bike, or the earlier incarnation of the design which Ferraroli built for the (also long defunct) Swiss ski brand Authier, to an event or two in the UK next year. Until then, let this expat Yank remind you that if it ain’t got splatter, then it don’t much matter.

Cheers,
Terrance
