BMX to MTB conversion, what a palaver! Can anyone help?

Re:

Doesn't the chain guide run behind the cup, the recessed front shouldn't impact the fitting. I may not be getting the issue you've had though.

I was running an ht2 style bb and an fsa afterburner crank with double rings. I guess running a bb mount chain guide will push the bb out a bit. Ah, now I see why you dont want recessed cups. I'll have a search and see if I can find something else.

Had another "sod it!" moment and grabbed the metal file! Now fitted and hoping it works once I sort the cranks out!

The Metalhead I had years ago had something similar, although I think the boomerang was custom made. I lost the boomerang at some point, but I still have the Mr Dirt upper guide it ran.

You seem to have it sorted, but the ebay link I posted to the MRP adapter cups says they take a 68mm. I ran those on said Metalhead and it worked out to 73mm for sure.

If you're running three piece cranks it probably doesn't matter, as you can just make a custom center tube spacer.

Yep, have done a quick measurement taking into account the backplate's width and it's about 78mm.... Profile do a 78mm Euro BB that should tick all the boxes. Now just waiting for the Profile cranks to arrive from my mate in the States.
