I'm build a set of wheels:
Hope Blue Ti-Glide & Fatso with silver DT Swiss DB spokes and silver X517s

The bike is basically silver with a touch of blue here and there.

I'm tempted to build the wheels with blue nipples - so are there any that are better than others?
Any to avoid?
Or should I not be such a tart and use standard silver ones?? :D

i built a singlespeed rear wheel using red and blue primo spoke nipples, only downside is they scratch very easily, triple care when building and they look good!

Wear a vest :D

Arf Arf :)

@Andy - I'd seen those - they were under consideration.

Other options seems to be DTSwizz or Wheelsmith?

I used the gold halo nips and they are really good and almost as hard as the standard brass ones.......I tried to strip a thread or round one off and the spoke thread snapped off first

Ice cubes

Ive fitted DT Swiss on my lightweight wheels ,theyre very good too but id still say the Halo ones are just as good tbh and not as dear either

Most important to know when using aluminium nipples is that you use a lubricant when installing them..

This is getting a little risque!
Ice cubes - lubricant - I say!

Looks like the Halo nips may be the way to go then!
Any particular lube? Good ole 3in1?

Cheers guys!
