Bit-by-bit Frame ID

Does anybody have any idea which UK framebuilders might have been using these "non-tube-invasive" bottle cage bosses around 1975-1980, and, perhaps just as important, which ones wouldn't have been using them?

I know Gazelle in Holland did that for a really short period in between the two sorts of mounting bottlecages. But they were from a other shape than these here.

the two sorts of mounting bottlecages.

Do you mean a time between clip-on cages and the "tube-invasive" braze-ons?

Another question: What is the standard BB thread in Holland?

The only place I ever seem to see something similar...

I'm trying to work out why? Surely he's not the only fella that did it this way?
You know, I cannot put the fella's name on my tubes on the strength of such circumstantial evidence... and who ever (apart from yours truly) ever bothers to do close-up photos of bottle-cage bosses, for f--ks sake?

Admittedly i didn't bother to take a close up of the cage mounts so you may have trouble seeing it :D , but this 70's Reg Barnett has raised braze-ons. I believe that Dave Russell and others was building the frames for the shop at the time, but have no actual proof for this other than a snippets found on another classic bike website when i researched the frame.

Anyway it does go to prove that others were doing it at the time. Matt

Thanks for responding, also Dutchie and Midlife.. I realise that 'bottle cage bosses', whilst being possibly my second-best chance of identifying my mystery frame, are not the most fascinating topic around!

'Reg Barnett' is a name I remember from way back when... Can't remember where the shop was, though! I'm interested in how the serial numbers worked when independent builders made frames for specific shops... i.e., If, for example, Dave Russell made a frame for Reg Barnett, would it have a Dave Russell serial number, or would Reg Barnett have their own numbering system and ask Dave Russell to use that number? any ideas?
