Binbrook Remembrance Ride Aftermath

A lovely day out in the Lincolnshire Wolds spent in great company and with fantastic if very cold weather.

This route has always deserved extending a bit and my little add on was pretty good I thought despite getting lost.

It was great to get to the old Bomber airfield and the perfect day to go to pay our respects to all the aircrew of the Royal Australian Airforce Squadron 460 who flew Lancaster Bomber from the airfield and suffered heavy losses during WW2.

Lol, my pics are uploading as we speak, really enjoyed this ride, its becoming so much more of a pleasure and not torture these days, its only taken me all year but im finally getting my fitness back lol!

I feel like death. I actually feel as though I have 'Man Flu' coming on. No excuse for my recent poor performances however.

Another nice little ride, if a little chilly at times. Sat here now feeling soooo tired !

Was great to see the airfield. Hope the pictures came out well Spud.

And then we happened upon the now disused RAF Binbrook airbase, so went for a spot of noseying around..

A very apt sight today, although you wouldve thought they would re-hang the 'H'

A couple of shots from the remembrance garden..

Where we also spotted a dormant 'English Electric - Lightning'

And various aeroplane bits, including a row of engines..

Went for a few fussy shots featuring my newly refurbed 'Bombers'

Its not a pair of B-17's, but there are definately a pair of 'bombers' on the runway at Binbrook...

Puzzling over one of these new fangled paper map thingymajigs...

It must be this way, this is another uphill section..

What are they all doing mummy..?

And the steeds, post ride and muddy..

Hi all

Great ride with great company. Best one ive done and looking forward to plenty more.

Going astray didnt matter, worked out very well, and a bonus of being able to get close to the lightning and its engines.
