i do like the look of the tan wall billy bonkers but are they really worth the money ?

i have also heard that they are abit prone to punctures aswell.

Not a very puncture resistant tyre, considering what it is designed for. That said I've run it for commuting and gravel with no real problems on the Kocmo. There's better out there though, as all purpose, so I'd only buy if you like the look and they're on sale.

And do take them on a muddy ride. That shit is fun. Skiing! They're not great in the wet once on a trail. Fine on road though.

i want a tyre for my 1995 specialized rockhopper that rides well, gives good grip but can also be good at resisting punctures as i will be using it on my 9 mile commute to work when the weather better.

I'd go for something else. There's a local town here where the youngings make a habit of chucking empty voddy bottles against the tunnel walls and Billy has gone ouchie and fizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz a few too many times there.
