Has Alex Pong of Magic Motorcycle been mentioned?

Did he ever build a bicycle? As in rideable? I only saw his "bike-shaped object", a mock-up of what he was proposing to build. It was not rideable and weighed something like 40 kg (from very foggy memory) because the parts that were intended to be CNC-machined hollow were just solid metal on the mock-up.

Cannondale bought the rights to the design and somebody, CEO or some such, promised they were going to make it or he'd eat his hat. Some time later, a year or three? they threw in the towel and he got his picture taken eating his hat.

The Pongs did make and sell MM cranksets, but anyone who rode hard broke them. I'm probably exaggerating, maybe there are still some out there that didn't break. I saw several that more or less exploded, with my own eyes, so this is not just a rumor. One of the most unreliable bike parts ever.
