Bikes, Bikes, Bikes......projects and riding

I might point my wife this way, just to make myself look a bit better! :)

At present:

2003 Specialized Rockhopper Comp
2003 Ellsworth Joker
2003 Scott Expert Racing
2006 Onza Woodstock

1995 (?) Orange P7
1995 (?) Orange X1

Plus one random Trek 4500 commuting bike. I've got most of the bits for most of them....!

I don't have a garage or a shed...but I do have a spare room in my flat, which is getting a little congested.

1994 Kona Explosif
1997 Kona Lavadome
199? 14" GT Aggressor (g/f's bike, she loves it)
1990 Rockhopper singlspeed

Oh, and a workstand.

Currently taking up space.

1992? Caloi Andes - Original DX bits, in bits.
1993 Specialized Stumpjumper M2 FS - some modern bits.
1994 Grisley Mega 20 - Original stock.
1995? Fuji Tahoe - Original stock
1997? Univega Alpina Racelite 500 - Original stock
1999 Giant Box One - some modern bits.
2005 Merlin Malt 1 - Needs a refurb, random bits.
2006 Trek Pilot 1.2 Flat Bar - Upgraded.
2006 Giant Anthem 3 - Original stock.
2008 Dawes Discovery 401 - Original stock.
2009 Giant Yukon FX1 - Upgraded.
2009 Felt Six Race - Original stock.

Enough bits for 2 pub bikes.

Missing? Hmmm:
A single speed.
A drop roadie.
A big boys BMX/Trial/Jump bike.

Fully Built:
Spooky Bikes 'Supertouch' Cyclocross-cum-commuter-cum-hacker AKA The B*stard Child
Development Bikes 'Nothing Special 853'
Spooky Bikes 'Bandwagon' prototype 4-Cross

Current Project:
Project 'Identity Crisis' Semi-Retro Build - waiting for the frame to get back from the painters.....still!!

Future Projects:
Spooky Bikes 'Project-X' Downhill Bike
FTW Industries (Frank The Welder/Wadelton) frame of some sort

This could be a cathartic exercise, but will more likely be frustrating.
Here goes:

1991 GT Karakoram Elite - Needs saddle re-skinning and rear rim/wheelbuild.
1991 Saracen Sahara - Needs cranks, cables, 26.4mm seatpin, saddle, brake levers, bars and grips.
1992 Saracen Kili Racer - Needs LX M550 crankset and 30.2mm seatpin.
1992 Dyna-Tech - Needs 26.6mm seatpost, decals and it's own wheels.
1993 Saracen - Needs accurate date and new brake pads.
1994 Marin Muirwoods - Needs left hand shifter fitting and it's own wheels.
1997 GT Zaskar frame - Needs stripping/powder-coating, wheels, bars pretty much everything.
1997 GT Bravado - Needs new headset and decent tyres.
1998 Saracen - Forks need powder-coating and fitting. Shorter stem.
1999 GT Zaskar H.O.T Mango frame - Too small need to sell it on.
2005 DMR Trailstar frame - Dunno... sell it probably.
2005 Claud Butler Olympus XT - Fully functional winter hack. Badly listed EBay bargain.
2006 Orange P7 - Needs new rear mech, chain-rings and grips.

XT M732 rear mech - Needs the rest of the groupset and another bike to be fitted to...

Need more money and time and space.

Ok....

Built:
1994 Rocky Mountain Blizzard – Single speed
1995 Dagger FS – Proper Retrobike
2002 Intense UZZI SLX – Do everything bike

Has beens and unfinished projects:
1994 Specialized S-Works FSR – Paint half stripped, waiting for summer to finish...
1995 Rocky Mountain Blizzard – Hiding in the hall cupboard in bits, waiting to be whole again....
1998 Dagger FS – Keeping the Blizzard company in the cupboard, uncertain future...

This is how bad I have "it" now...

I am currently a thousand miles from home, with at least a dozen projects awaiting my TLC upon return, and here I am waiting for e-mail replies from three different sellers across the country to confirm shipping info on more "new" stuff for the stable . It's become an obsession bordering on silliness, but I figure, i have the limited funds to make it work, it keeps me out of the bars and brothels, my wife seems to approve, (or at least doesn't strongly disapprove), and life is to short not to enjoy what makes me happy, so....what the heck, and stuffed garage be damned ;) .

cheers,

Steve
