Bikes and Bunkers

A splendid machine you have there. What is the frame?

Thamkyouverymuch.😎

My own design, 3/2.5 ti, made for me in around 2008 by xacd,
(must be said the welds are better than on my lynskey litespeed or sandvik orange)
although fundamentally i like a galaxy geometry, but dropped the bb a little, made some tyre clearance and added IS mounts on rear.
I.e. it's all been done before, but a tourer with discs was quite rare at this point.
I did sell a couple, but tbh buying off China to sell your own product takes marketing, which makes me feel nauseous.

Oh then came the Gravel bike!

It's on its second groupset, 105 now hydro 11.
Fantastic bike, Been many thousands of miles😍👍

Here was today's ride review ffi
Couldn't decide whether to take mtb, racer or touring piece, so glad I settled on the latter because it was fast and efficient enough to get me up the back of Holme Moss
View attachment 951332but allowed me to cut through the forestry on almost unrideable surfaces
View attachment 951333Thus allowing me to discover new routes and features I've never seen before.

I did wonder how it came to pass. Clearly you are a visionary!

Maybe in early 2000s, the bigbrand frame designers rode MTB or Tour, but never both!

Disc on drop bar came in from smaller brands imo, with bigger tyres to lay down that stopping power.

Look at it now!
Turns out better brakes and fatter tyres make you go faster...😉
