menace to society? Threat to the public? What a waste of time and resources putting him in prison. Assuming he does 18 months it will cost us over 30k to keep him warm and dry. Community sentencing is the answer here.

Too wishy washy. Take him down to the woods where no-one can hear his screams, tie him to a tree and kick seven bells of shit out of him for a week solid. When everyone has a sore feet, pour petrol on him and set him on fire. Throw his body in the council incinerator and be done with it. You could take nice pictures of it and show all the other scumbags instead of sending them to cushy prisons where they form contacts and hone their light fingered ways. Best way for vermin!

(expecting a torrent of abuse from Guardian readers any minute now)

Si :?

I don't read the guardian, but I'm sure we can find a middle point between these 2 punishments. :)

Will they also kick him out of the country too. As he is not British

how do you know he's not British?

With the name Muharrem Sener . Makes him Turkish or a mix of Turk-Armenia or Turk-Bulgaria. the length of sentience would mean after serving it immigration could send him back. Or let him serve it in Turkey. As our prisons are full.

might still be British born.

Then he is lucky and wont go to a Turkish prison But stay at a British hotel. Also just because you are born in a country doesn't make you a citizen from that country. I've known/know many who were born in other countries but say they are British. As their parents are British. Eg Tony Blair said he was English yet he was born in Scotland. So really he is Scottish ??

Which country you adopt your heritage from is a personal matter and nothing we can tell from that article suggests either, on a public forum you should play it safe and not assume either.

My dad was born and raised in England but is of Scottish Blood. He has always regarded himself as English. (He still plays the Bagpipes though :) )

Does he have a recipe for Black Bun? I am thinking of making on for Chrimbo although it sounds pretty fearsome?

The reason i posted the article was just to say ha ha scumbag thief, you got caught. Because he was regularly on the local news but no-one could collar him! Seems like some people want to change it into some race card thing! By the way, i'm German by nationality but have never lived there, so what does that make me? (yes, i did used to get the goose-step at school regularly!) Anyroads, he's out of the station bike parks now. One thing that baffled me, why the hell would anyone park a bike worth more than 50 quid outside a station? I'd rather walk...
