I honestly think some you guys need to chill out and stop taking it so seriously. The ones who realise I’m just prodding fun at the topic get it.
“Burn him burn him he’s entered a 98+ bike into our BOTM , is nothing sacred ?”

You do realise I’ve only posted it for a reaction don’t you?

The fellow members you were trying to evoke a reaction from lived up to your expectation and probably responded with the aim of getting a reaction from you.
And this is what you get; 'what you reap is what you sow', and all that.

I’ve owned this bike many many years. And never really mentioned it on here much. Reason it’s come out of hiding now is simply because of the last months BOTM. I truly don’t care whether a bike is correct period as I love all bikes but I knew some people would get their knickers in a twist about it and it’s worked. But what I will say is that you can’t bend the rules to your liking. Either a frame was built before or after 97. It’s clear cut in my opinion but like I said I’ve no issue with bikes being modern or retro in the forum.

I disagree, no one has got there knickers in a knot.

Apart from me not knowing what your bike was, what year it was made, and why you called it a "Replica", NO one commented.

Truth is, you didn't enter a drive side shot of the bike, there is no build thread, you didn't post the year, or any detail of the bike.

You pretty much got called out straight away.

A clever way to attempt to derail BOTM though, and to cast your opinion over the Yeti in a currently running BOTM.

A complete waste of 5 pages, but Andy Warhol did say...………."Everybodys famous for fifteen minutes".

Suffice to say, I dont think there's been any argument at all, I think everybody is pretty much in agreement, the Yeti is a Qualifying replica, and yours is a Modern Re-Issue.

If you haven't already entered you GT lightning, why dont you stop trying to be clever and enter that, and failing that, take the bloody GT for a ride and post a thread in the correct section, its clear you haven't ridden it, in ten years....

Re:

Too correct a couple of points.

I’m currently sat at the top of a hill about to have some fun on my bike in the peaks. Not the GT though , a modern bike.....

I gave detail in the way that it’s the MBUK Zaskar. It’s not my fault that you don’t know what it is, couldn’t google , or simply ask politely. Whichever is correct the answer is easily found. In terms of a build thread ... well I didn’t build it , MBUK did but I’m more than happy to post the magazine issue number so you can grab a copy.

My Lightning was entered last month but I’m happy to enter another bike this month with no issue.

The reason I called it a replica is because of the Yeti and to spark debate. You’ve got your opinion and I’ve got mine but you can’t change facts that truly neither is 97 qualifying. If you look back at the thread you will see I answer what the bike is several times and the reason why it was put forward now rather ages ago.

5 pages worth of knickers in a twist is more accurate. I’m ok with that and I’ve no issue if you want to carry it on for another 5 pages or stop replying now and let the thread continue without either of our opinions.

However I do plan to build something else soon that will truly make your head explode. So let me get this right , if the bike was 97 or before but is changed dramatically it’s ok to be entered? Watch this space it’s going to make you have a right little paddy

Im sure the thread speaks for itself, and what cant speak cant lie. You got called out, its clear you have a issue. BOTM and its rules aren't rocket science, and as for blowing our minds, I think its safe to say your derailment tactics have done that already, im pretty sure any build wont have the same effect, but I shall eagerly await your efforts, simply for our amusement.

How can I be called out when my whole reason for posting was to get “one”on the hook and spark debate.

I also love how you talk about yourself as a representative of the forum users. How do you know what others think. Maybe they agree. Maybe just maybe I’ve had a few pms from members having a laugh about it.

Yes the rules are there. Can you point out exactly which rule I’ve broken? And then we can maybe discuss the yeti in regards this rule.

Like I said before my issue isn’t directly the yeti. Just this happened to the bike that prompted it. But it’s definitely not a 97 pre bike. It was made now from recycled if you will tubing from a 89 fro. It’s awesome and probably one of my favourite bikes I’ve seen on here so please don’t think I’m jealous or bitter.

Have you read the thread, there's been NO debate, you haven't sparked any debate or controversy, you got NO one on the hook, the only person who took any interest in your bike was me, for total lack of any avaliable information regarding your claim it was a REPLICA.

As for the rules, they are simple, but you know those already hence your derailment tactics from the outset.

PMSL----Do they just let you out on Weekdays...PMSL

Re:

I hate to break it to you but your the one on the hook and I think that maybe you don’t realise how to have friendly debate on the points I’ve raised.

Let’s leave it there as we will never agree.

Go ride your bike and chill out. Maybe you need to request some weekday freedom as yes I’m allowed out on Fridays. Just Fridays.

Am I, on the hook...? ;)

I pretty sure with NO debate, there's little to agree on, your ruse failed miserably. Had you cut up a Titanium Raleigh and spent the time and money sourcing and installing some hard to find Carbon tubes, and then calling it a Tomac Replica, your thought process would have had some merit and perhaps have been on topic.

So far, all you have done is enter a modern bike in the wrong competition.

Not stirred opinions, caused a fuss, created controversy, or even built or ridden the bike you entered from what you've said.

Ive enjoyed it though, I shall very much look forward to your Grand claims of blowing everybody's minds with a real controversial build.

Now remember, dont let the big boys pick on you anymore in the playground, and dont be home late for your tea, you know your folks go mad. Enjoy the rest of your ride, wear your helmet, and when you get to the road remember your highway code.

;)
