in dragons den style, I'm out. withdraw mine to.

mutters... bloody farce, s'posed to be fun, storm in a teacup /mutter.

Lots of withdrawals is disappointing. Seems that the idea of the month to make it more inclusive is going to have the reverse effect and put a few off (forever).

Just remember to vote for the bike you think meets your definition of the criteria, that's what I plan to do.

to be honest, I liked the idea of the underdog, but then a couple of bikes proposed and the nit picking starts, and in some instances just becomes bickering - pishes me off. Suddenly its four pages of tyre colour argument.

@John, perhaps a more closed proposal system would be better.

I usually take a higher view when I vote for the bike and choose the bike I would buy or ride if I had the choice, I'm not a stickler for correct era or correct tyres ;) the bike I would like usually gets my vote... but these bickering moments just remove the fun.

@John, perhaps

the standard of some of these bikes is exceptional, which will make some of the contenders definite underdogs.
i will save my bike for a more normal month.
but the bickering really does take the fun out of these comps.

With all these withdrawals my pantera will be back in the running, just start the poll and let's have done with this lol

I was with you Bro, and totally onside about the under dog part....

But

those tyres were/are wrong un's ...even if they are period correct and god himself spec'ed em

as for the comments they do make for an interesting read, as different people see different things, or hold different values to me and sometimes its refreshing to see things from a different angle,

sometimes I do think "some comments" are  but equally feel compelled to defend peoples right to make them

Bike of the month "should" this month go to the Pro's Closet as thier entry is in a class of its own.... but I'd be surprised if they win as it doesn't seem to work like that, so its a shame you pulled your entry

Let me help...

Bike that would not normally receive many, if any votes if entered in the regular bike of the month competitions. Especially if among yetis with purple bits bolted on...of the month.

What more do you need to know? enter, vote, or go do the dishes!!

If this is now the mutual consensus than please pull my submission however it is my understanding that John clearly said this was not his intention for the theme this month. "Underdog" doesn't refer to the bikes at all, it simply means this month is for those that have not won a BoTM comp.

NAH.......

Im sorry I don't buy it.........,

It was an "Underdog" Brand Builder, with the rule set, that only members who had not previously won could enter.

Who the hell would consider members who had not previously won.....UNDERDOGS........, its comical.

I call BULLSHIT on that, and this underdog member nonsense since is simply the easy way out of a tough spot....!

If im honest, it stinks of a white wash to me.

Dare I call this Month a "Tailored" event..........for you.

The bike is NO Underdog, and Nor are you as a member with the bicycle business you own, the mechanics you employ, or the Photographers/studio to take the pictures.

In a similar way, you would rarely see Jeff Archer Enter the comp, despite his retrobike contributions.

It would have been the Noble thing to give the regular fella a chance this month, in my honest opinion.

This bike could win every month, I ask you this.......................Wheres the competition...?

I swore I'd never again come to Nick's defense on this topic due to his irrational love for all things Alpinestars, but am I correct in this translation?

I, Nick, understand that I am a "special guy" and that I should show restraint and give a "Lesser Person" a sporting chance in an open competition? I'd say that's taking a lot of assumption about Nick's ego, which he really hasn't brought with him to this forum. At all.

I Make No Bones about my Opinions Of Business on here, what has his Ego got to do with it...?
