FatMikeyNYC's 1983 Fat Chance #138 x-Chris Chance

With all the interest in Chris' re-startup of Fat Chance, I'd like to enter one of his early, fillet brazed personal bikes this month in the spirit of Chris being an "underdog" back then and perhaps again now with his current Fat Chance Bikes venture.

Build thread here http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... p;t=315375

Majestic!

Re:

A Fat Chance that was previously owned by Chris Chance. We could be looking at BoTY.

Now if the Breezer was previously owned by Joe Breeze...then it'd be a toss up!

Re:

That 83 Fat is something else. Love those forks and agree underdog bike previously owned by the underdog of Kickstarter. Very apt.

I don't have much love for fats. Only one I've owned I sold for a loss at a swap just so I wouldn't have to load it back into the truck. It wasn't bad, it just did nothing for me.

But every time I see that fillet brazed fat of Mikeys.. Hot damn I want that bike. Badly.

not digging the red tyres

Uhhhhhh....might want to take that up with the original Owner

May be original, and thanks for pointing that out - cool picture, but to me coloured tyres remind me of cheap childrens bikes and just look wrong. I don't recall a single bike I've seen on here with coloured tyres which I haven't thought would look better with some amberwalls or just plain black.

Personal choice and all, which is why I expect it will get 50+ more votes than my trekker

I'm sorry Adrian you're just so wrong. I mean if God Chance himself has spoken, then red tyres it has to be.
Then again, after all the years that God has allegedly been around, he still created. . . . . . THE HISTORY MAN ! ! ! DA DA DA

Mike

There is no god. This thread proves it. I am withdrawing my beautiful bike. I thought it was all a bit of fun rather than such a serious 'business'. I am deeply saddened by the pinnicketiness of some on the previous pages and am sure that a few contributors could start an argument in an empty phone box.

Darwin is my excuse.

Back to cobbling together bikes for the love of them for me then.

Each to their own.

I could always enter the broom?
