I think it's a wonderful idea, there are too many dull catalogue-correct builds around which appeal only to the OCD types. But I'd suggest paint pens, Sharpie fades really rapidly.

I considered doing more frame art on my industrial/steampunk inspired Peugeot, but in the end when with some cog stickers I bought online, which I was very pleased with. I think I still have plenty left if anyone has a use for them.
