Bicycle bag

With the vacation season finally here I'm looking for an enormous bag to transport a complete bike. Preferably the frame with the wheels taken off in the middle and the wheels on either side.
Does such a thing exist? Or should I buy some fabric and put my mother to work? Anyone had their wife/mother/grandmother (or male relative to keep things PC  ) make anything like it for them?

think i should buy a bag for the next home move. My Trimble got a nasty scratch from the last move

Thanks for the link but those prices  Those bags cost more than the bike I want to use them for. Doesn't make a lot of sense

Sorry to hear about the Trimble, I don't think I'll be moving to a place that's too far to personally ride my bikes to any time soon though

Check ebay
one of the evans bags and wheel cases went for its opening 20 quid bid 2 days ago

Haha I've been thinking about it for more than 2 days, should have posted this earlier!! Always the same story

Let's see, I know this place that sells cheap faux leather in awful colours. Just need to measure how much I'd need, shouldn't be much more than 20 quid...

I think the best and cheapest option is the good old bog-standard cardboard bike box[available at you're LBS]
If you consider that they use them to ship bikes worldwide then theyre possible the best way,or large companies would have found another method :?
I understand you need it to be reusable, but if you can find a spot to store it then no reason you cant.I took a bike the Amsterdam this way,the hotel stored the box in the basement till i was checking out

Great to have your own bike away with you on holiday 8) 8)

PS
Got a sewing machine?

Hmm I mainly want a bag that will take a complete bike because it would let me take my bike with me for free when I travel by train. Which I'll be doing a lot since my girlfriend lives an hour and a half by train away.. I always borrow her bike if I need to go somewhere when I'm staying at her place, but it would be nice to have my own bike at hand, seeing as she lives in a much smaller city surrounded by beautiful nature and rural areas, perfectly suited for nice rides around the countryside.
A box probably wouldn't do the trick I'm afraid.. Although it's probably the best option for one time transport!
I don't own a sewing machine myself, that's why I was thinking maybe my mother would be able to help me lol. She does have one and she knows how to use it!
