Definitely. I assume these frames were an offshoot of their road mega tube frames. Road bikes used 1" head tubes for a while longer than mountain bikes, by 1995 most mtb's were 1-1/8". Road bikes followed a bit later, essentially adopting the standard from mtb's. But I would assume they used 1" for these as that's what the road frames were using. For 96 Shimano launched their V brakes so I'm sure they build the later versions with a 1-1/8" head tube, & ditched the canti stud for the stock V brakes.
Both sensible changes.

I had no idea road bikes use 1.1/8” I assumed they still used 1” !
Initially I thought it was a tradition thing, as in English would stick to English standards - french to french and Italians to Italian - and eventually all MTB manufacturers - and especially with Taiwan being the centre of production of hydro formed Aluminium and other plastic frames - the industry began to Globalise and adhere to an agreed standard hence the 1” was abandoned in favour of 1.1/8” for say Italians. Whereas road bikes have their own standard. It seems as if it all points to economics and cheaper production - I think the 1” frame you have is more desirable and collectible than mine - but correct me if I’m wrong

An update for those interested
Installed the cables - XTR brake cables in grey and SIS/XTR shifter in black - I wasn’t too keen on a colour difference at first but it’s hardly noticeable
A few touches included green bottle cage screws on the frame matching those green caps on the valves.
Set it up - took 5 minutes setting the M960/970 combo - I forgot how easy modern
Shifters and mechs are! Brakes as well took 5 minutes and I’m really pleased with them.
Took her for a quick spin and just wow! Light - so
Light - so responsive and quick and feels sorted! I’m feeling craven enough to hit some trails tomorrow rain or no rain.
The bar ends are WCS Pro but decals were half rubbed AJ removed them.
Back in the garage as going to tweak everything and Shorten the Chain - I would’ve done it already but don’t have the spare rivet links.
And shorted the rear cable outer a tad
Ordered a vintage Celeste Elite bottle cage and some Bianchi Reparo Corse Titanium Megatube decals as this one is missing them.
Need some Campag dust caps for the pedals
Only thing left would be to get some Ritchey Logic WCS Pro Bar end decals and then she’s ready!
I’m going to try out a Champagne coloured Ritchey WCS Seatpost - and looking at a Ti FRM one - or should I leave the black?
It would look nicer sleeker And racier without the Bar Ends - but I like riding with Bar Ends - unless I have riser bars and a short risen stem
To think I bought the frame/forks/stem set for €300 posted to me from Italy!
