Thanks man!!
And I’ve seen your bike here ! https://repartodirt.wordpress.com/2015/ ... racing-xc/
I think magpiegifts wondered how it’d look in bare titanium! Here’s a lovely taster

And is that a 2002 SRAM XO you have ?! What shifters and F mech?

ha ha.
Didn't mean id want the martini colours gone, was just pondering...

Would be sacrilege to strip that amazing paint job...

Re: Bianchi Reparto Corse Titanium Martini Racing XC

Yep that's my bike! I stripped & brushed the rear after I had a crack repaired. It would have been impossible to just touch up the paint as it was lacquered & I didn't know if the repair was going to hold. Looked better than post repair though. Pro Tip don't sprint at 100% and purposefully flex the BB area side to side, it carves up the trail great but isn't great for the pocket book.

Not sure if the XO is '02 or not but it is the 9 speed X0 rear D. Shifters are 9 speed XO as well & they are simply amazing the carbon looks pretty nice as well. Plus side is you can usually find the shifters at a very nice price. Noticeable upgrade from X9 in looks & function. So crisp & fast.

Front Derailleur is an XTR 952. I've been meaning to change it out or get a wider bottom bracket as it hits the frame dropping into the granny. I think I have a 113mm BB on mine, but I doubt you'll have any issues with an outboard bearing crank.

Curious, does your frame have a 1" or 1-1/8" headtube?

Re: Bianchi Reparto Corse Titanium Martini Racing XC

New member of the family waiting for me as I walk in from work
XTR M970 shifters to go with that M960 front mech.

Thanks for that - I had read the pages on the link with your bike in it- yours is the nicest there! The newer Celeste and navy models are nice but the colour scheme lacks the simplicity and elegance of yours! The naked ti tubes look factory spec ! So well done!

Good question about the head tube - I’ll have to have a look - I know the BB has an English thread

And the XO - I’m a big fan of Sachs and according to Disraeligears the XO had more Sachs DNA than ESP - with the Sachs staff and engineers being involved in creating it - that’s one of many reasons I was considering this instead of the M960 - I was also considering a 97 Sachs Quarz front and rear with plasma shifters - but 8 speed - but that’s more out of aesthetics and nostalgia with a hint of wanting it as period Correct as possible

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303709195022 This is the saddle I’m after - I can’t afford to get it right now so hoping it’s there in a fortnight when I’ll be able to!
If anyone has one - please let me know!
