Best steel frame available today?

Just noticed that chainreactioncycles.com are going to be stocking both the 09 Rocky Mountain Blizzard frame in blue and better still a small range of the Curtis XC 853 frames (howies blue is best I think), choices!

The new genesis frames are nice not complete 853, i think only the top, down and seat tubes are 853. Build to run large forks though 100-130. Disc only.

Sanderson Life is another alternative but they come in a horrible grey paint job. I like the look of these frames though and British built too

Dialed bikes - prince albert, nice frame and a good price but again designed with a geometry to run a 130mm fork.

Others worht a mention are the Charge Duster and voodoo bizango which comes with removable V Brake mounts??!?!? Perfect if you want to build it up with retro parts or just new v's

I've got a Rock Lobster Team TIG 853. Love it

Just found out that the Sanderson Life frames are going to be available in some different colours later this year, dont know which colours yet though.

Congratulations on your choice. That would be mine also for a variety of reasons.

Dialled Alpine or PA would also be close behind.

Haven't decided yet! I still like the look of Curtis bikes and with their frames you get to decide the serial number, free frame repairs for life and they offer a refurb service for the frame! What is it about the Sanderson frames you like so much, apart from the fact they are nearly half the price of a Curtis?

A bump for this useful thread.

Singletrack mag briefly reviewed the Orange R8 this month, sounds pretty good as a modern retro.

They have also been riding a Kenesis decade but hiked it up on unconventional 140mm forks for an all mountain, higher BB and relaxed head angle. interesting idea.

Also you've got the new Pace Fillet o fish to add to this thread.
