Best square taper BB?

Whats the best and longest lasting square taper BB thats readily available today? i understand its still possible to get a UN73 from sjscycles or should i splash the cash and get a Phil Wood

UN73 No need for anything more. Does the job & lasts ages

Still a Royce would be rather nice...

Yeah thats what i thought. All the boutique stuff is good but if a components gets the job done well then thats good enough for me.

I always go for the shimano higher end stuff. UN72 / 73 wahtever. Does the job and lasts.

Heard Phil Wood is also excellent.

Been looking for a 68x113 and cant find any, its for a Bontrager and i'm just assuming thats the correct shell size. Think i'm going to have to go for the Phil Wood but thats going to cost me :cry:

UN73 is discontinued and shops just have the last remaining stock. And although Shimano now make a UN74 instead, in all sizes, they are not being imported to the UK owing to 'lack of demand'. Cambriabike used to sell them, but seem to have stopped.

I wonder if anybody knows whether they are sold anywhere else in Europe?
