Known for hubs and freewheels. Manufacturer of components for both both the bicycle and automotive industries. Sadly, after 100 years existence, in 1959 it was bought and absorbed by Renold Chains Ltd. and gone in name by 1969.

Berec, everyone remembers these quite shiny lights!

'Berec’ was the name given to the Ever Ready Company, when it was taken over by Hanson Trust at a time when it was becoming fashionable to ‘re-brand’ old-established companies, and reduce their names to a string of initials – ‘Berec’ representing British Ever Ready Electric Co.
There was yet another very popular lamp made by Berec and labeled ‘Chloride’.
