Best ever cycling related purchase?

Buffalo top. Purchased early '90s and still working well. Looks like you're wearing a nappy with the crotch-warmer in place but I'm too snug to care.

Still have my Buffalo jacket...a little small now though!

Hmmm... from a riding point of view the biggest single change would have to be my first suspension forks - a pair of Marzocchi DH3s that blew my mind on the first ride. Or the £20 I spent on putting some Z2 spings in them to make them even better!

On a more serious note the Bell full-face helmet that absolutely, positively, without-a-doubt saved my life during a huge off in a DH race a few years ago was probably the best £70 I ever spent.

I'm with rienster and jimo746 on this one, my first set of SPD's (525).

Then again my worst crash was on the first mtb ride with them...

My first Clockwork in 1993. Blue/silver fade. Had to go down the Suntour route as couldn't afford the Shimano options then.
What a revelation after my Raliegh Activator. The rigid forks were more compliant than the "suspension" forks on the Raleigh!

It left me half a chance of keeping up with my Elite riding mate!
